10/26/20 IN-PERSON, Mask Making for Día de los Muertos (CTLE Workshop)
This is the registration for one of five CTLE workshops being offered as a part of the JOURNEY arts in education program's teacher professional development series.
Workshops are being offered as hybrid sessions with the option to attend in person with social distancing protocols in place or virtually through a zoom link. This registration form is only for the IN-PERSON session on 10/26.

TIME: 4:30–7:30 pm
COST: Workshops are FREE for teachers in school districts participating in the 2020-2021 JOURNEY Arts in Education program. For all others, the cost is $50 per workshop.
IN-PERSONMask Making for Día de los Muertos (CTLE Workshop), October 26th, 2020
Teaching artist Miguel Cossio, born in Mexico and based in New York, is an avid traveler and lore researcher. He will lead teachers in the ritualistic art forms of masks making and puppet making for Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), just in time for Halloween and All Saints Day. Miguel is also a writer/director of performance pieces and brings his in-school workshops throughout NYC, Westchester and Long Island. All teachers from K-12 will enjoy this hands on workshop as well as art teachers, dual language and foreign language classroom teachers.
About the Presenter:
Born in Mexico and based in New York, an avid traveler and lore researcher, MC is a visual artist and writer/director of performance pieces. His interest is the American experience, ritual art forms from World cultures, and their ever changing circumstances. MC is currently working with several arts in education organizations such as The Center for Arts Education www.caenyc.org in NYC and Arts Westchester www.artswestchester.org in White Plains, NY and is in the roster of several arts-in-ed organizations including Suffolk Boces and the Huntington Arts Council in Long Island, NY.
